The scientific research achievements of Xi'an Institute of Optics and Fine Mechanics, Chinese Academy of Sciences and the incubation enterprise "Haitian Air" jointly appeared at the Light Expo

Four incubated companies, including Technology Co., Ltd., Guangdong Guangdong Hong Kong Macao Greater Bay Area Hard Technology Innovation Research Institute, Chongqing Zhongke Rowing Ship Information Technology Co., Ltd., and Femtosecond Optoelectronics Technology (Xi'an) Co., Ltd., participated in the 25th China International Optoelectronics Expo (CIOE). The exhibition theme is "Instantly Seeing Wanxiang Light Creating the Future", showcasing the new products and equipment of research institutes and enterprises in the fields of ultrafast optical technology, laser communication technology, photon functional materials and devices in aerospace, deep-sea scientific research, etc., demonstrating the "hard power" of optical applications.

Joint Exhibition Area of Xi'an Institute of Optics and Fine Mechanics and Incubation Enterprises


As one of the most influential exhibitions in the global field of optical technology, this year's Optical Expo will be held at the Shenzhen International Convention and Exhibition Center for three days. More than 3700 well-known enterprises from over 30 countries and regions around the world will participate in the exhibition, showcasing the latest achievements of "optical intelligent manufacturing" technology.


Multiple achievements of Haitian Aerospace have been showcased in the exhibition area of Xi'an Institute of Optics and Fine Mechanics. The human eye can only see events that occur within 1/24 of a second, and any process faster than this time can only rely on ultra fast diagnostic instruments. At the exhibition, the national major scientific research equipment "High Performance Stripe Camera" developed by Xi'an Institute of Optics and Fine Mechanics attracted a lot of attention: it can convert ultrafast time evolution physical processes into visible spatial image information, also known as the "time amplification tool", which is of great significance for basic cutting-edge scientific research and major original innovation.


The series of high-performance stripe cameras successfully developed by our institute has made China the third country in the world to independently master the ability to acquire femtosecond time scale physical quantities, breaking the dilemma of China's high-end ultrafast diagnostic equipment being controlled by others, and supporting many major scientific projects, major special projects, basic frontiers and other research in China, "said a researcher from Xi'an Institute of Optics and Fine Mechanics.

Xi'an Institute of Optics and Fine Mechanics exhibits: Stripe Camera


Nowadays, Xi'an Institute of Optics and Fine Mechanics has established a relatively complete series of stripe camera research and development base in China, integrating design, production, and testing. It has successfully developed eight series of stripe cameras, including femtosecond stripe camera (450fs), synchronous scanning stripe camera (300MHz), and large dynamic range stripe camera (>10000:1). This not only achieves breakthroughs in key core technologies, but also drives the development of various types of ultrafast optoelectronic devices.


Under the strategy of building a maritime power, the demand for underwater wet plug connectors as important key components is also increasing. On site, the Xi'an Institute of Optics and Fine Mechanics showcased China's first set of optoelectronic composite underwater wet plug connectors with independent intellectual property rights that have been verified through sea trials, attracting a continuous stream of customers to stop and watch. According to participants from Xi'an Institute of Optics and Fine Mechanics, the connector is responsible for communication and power supply between various modules of the underwater observation network, and is a key node of the entire system network. The core indicators of this connector are comparable to the international advanced level, and long-term reliability testing is currently being carried out.

At this exhibition, infrared/laser composite detectors that can achieve precise multi-target positioning were also exhibited simultaneously; A GHz fiber femtosecond laser that can overcome the current bottleneck of low repetition rate femtosecond processing efficiency and achieve high-efficiency and high-quality femtosecond cold processing; ICCD cameras that can achieve fast image acquisition rates and ultra-high sensitivity down to single photons; ICMOS camera that can achieve low illumination, high resolution, wide dynamic range, and large-area image output; Cutting edge basic research achievements with independent intellectual property rights, such as microchannel plate photomultiplier tubes that can achieve ultrafast single photon detection.


The technological hard core strength demonstrated at the Light Expo is a concentrated reflection of Xi'an Institute of Optics and Fine Mechanics' commitment to technological innovation, strengthening basic research, and exploring new models for the transfer and transformation of scientific and technological achievements. In recent years, Xi'an Institute of Optics and Fine Mechanics has actively leveraged its technological and talent advantages in the field of photonics by building an innovative ecosystem of "research institutions+angel investment+entrepreneurial platform+incubation services", participating in the "Chasing Light Plan", etc., driving the agglomeration and development of the entire photonics industry chain in Shaanxi, and creating a source of original technological innovation in the photonics field.

Through breakthroughs and application integration of core materials and devices such as optoelectronic materials, optoelectronic chips, optoelectronic sensors, and optoelectronic modules, it provides possibilities and impetus for related product research and innovation.


On site, Shaanxi Optoelectronic Leading Institute Technology Co., Ltd. (referred to as "Optoelectronic Leading Institute") brought four latest achievements, including single hole wafers of gallium arsenide based VCSEL (vertical cavity surface emitting laser), gallium arsenide based VCSEL array wafers, gallium arsenide IPD (integrated passive device) wafers, and gallium arsenide VCSEL rapid testing wafers, which attracted a lot of attention.

Exhibits of Pioneer Institute: 4 Latest Achievements of Crystal Circle


According to technical personnel from the Optoelectronics Leading Institute, since 2023, the company has completed the full process development of three products: VCSEL single hole wafers, VCSEL array wafers, and VCSEL fast test wafers, and has released the PDK (Process Design Kit). Among them, two products, VCSEL single hole wafer and VCSEL array wafer, have passed reliability tests such as 1000H high temperature and high humidity, high temperature charging, and thermal shock. This means that the company already has the corresponding pilot contract manufacturing capabilities, "said the technician.


Public information shows that the Optoelectronics Leading Institute was jointly initiated and established by Xi'an Institute of Optics and Fine Mechanics, Shaanxi Provincial Department of Science and Technology, Xi'an High tech Development Zone, Xi'an Zhongke Optics and Fine Mechanics Investment Holdings Co., Ltd. (referred to as "Xike Holdings"), and Zhongke Chuangxing Technology Investment Co., Ltd. (referred to as "Zhongke Chuangxing") in 2015. At present, it is equipped with a complete process technology team of 150 people, with more than 100 sets of advanced compound chip key equipment and 8000 square meters of clean rooms ranging from 100 to 100000 levels. It has built a public service platform for optoelectronic chips and an advanced compound engineering innovation platform. It is currently constructing an advanced silicon optical integration technology innovation platform to solve the research and development pilot demand difficulties faced by various photon chip innovation entities in the current industry chain, and provide strong support for the photon industry to supplement, strengthen, and extend the chain.


As a common technology research and development platform for the photonics industry in Shaanxi Province and the "chain leader" unit of the photonics industry chain in Shaanxi Province, the Optoelectronics Leading Institute has always been committed to solving the four major pain points of photonics enterprises and university projects in the initial stage, namely "inability to build production lines, inability to verify products, lack of voice in production capacity, and high market risks". So far, it has provided research and development, pilot testing, and testing services to more than 100 customers including enterprises, universities, and research institutes. The multiple scientific and technological achievements and products of the settled enterprises have filled the domestic gap.

Hard Science Institute and Zhuojie Laser Booth


It is reported that Guangdong Institute of Hard Technology and Zhuojie Laser have independently developed multiple blue semiconductor lasers, carefully creating two series of "fiber coupled output" and "free space output", with a comprehensive power coverage of 100W to 3500W. We can provide key processing accessories such as blue red light composite oscillating head, blue red light composite galvanometer, OCT penetration monitoring module, etc., to provide customized solutions for the processing of key components of new energy, electric vehicles, and non-ferrous metal parts. Among them, the 3500W free output blue semiconductor laser is currently the highest power blue laser product in China, suitable for non-ferrous metal cladding and additive manufacturing fields such as copper and aluminum, solving the difficulties of infrared laser processing, low efficiency, and poor quality of related materials.


The participating companies in this exhibition include Chongqing Zhongke Rowing Ship Information Technology Co., Ltd. (referred to as "Rowing Ship Technology") and Femtosecond Optoelectronics Technology (Xi'an) Co., Ltd. (referred to as "Femtosecond Optoelectronics").
